  • China has published a list of the forms and sources of vitamins and minerals that can be used as health food raw materials 
  • China has also published its draft health food filing guidance 
  • India has launched a public consultation on regulations for the approval of non-specified food and food ingredients
  • The EU has approved the use of fermented soybean extract as a novel food
  • The European Commission has conducted a botanicals stakeholder survey to determine the adequacy of the EU’s health claims rules, and the impact of the absence of harmonized rules
  • The European Commission has opened a public survey on nutrition and health claims
  • Belgium is updating its guidance on the tolerances for nutrient values declared on labels
  • Italy is instituting new rules for caffeine claims
