AHPA is an active member of IADSA and is distributing the IADSA Newsflash as a member benefit. IADSA is an association focused on the globalization of food supplement markets and regulatory challenges. This issue of the IADSA Newsflash covers:

• IADSA is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year; the next Annual IADSA Member meeting takes place in London during June 2018 
• EFSA has proposed a limit of 800 mg/day for the intake of green tea catechins in food supplements
• In the EU, an extract of three novel herbal roots (Cynanchum wilfordii Hemsley, Phlomis umbrosa Turcz. and Angelica gigas Nakai) has been authorized for use in food supplements for adult populations
• EU Member States has been monitoring internet sales offers for food supplement products making claims for prevention and treatment of bone and joint diseases that are out of compliance with EU regulations.
• The Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food and Environment (VKM) has evaluated dietary intake and tolerable upper intake levels for molybdenum, chromium, manganese and Vitamin K
