IADSA update on international supplement regulations

AHPA is an active member of IADSA and is distributing the IADSA Newsflash as a member benefit. IADSA is an association focused on the globalization of food supplement markets and regulatory challenges. This issue of the IADSA Newsflash includes:

• China has published a list of the forms and sources of vitamins and minerals that can be used as health food raw materials 
• China has also published its draft health food filing guidance

• Italy is instituting new rules for caffeine claims
• Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Norway have all announced limits to levels of various nutrients in food products
• Turkey has published its health claims regulation
• Chile has proposed limitations on the marketing of supplements containing substances such as caffeine and taurine
• Colombia and Ecuador have issued guidance on health claims
• Paraguay has drafted legislation related to allergen labeling
• Russia has proposed amendments to it regulations on food supplements
• A summary of India’s new food safety regulations is included
