AHPA Chief Science Officer Dr. Sharaf appointed to HPTLC Association board

American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) Chief Science Officer, Maged Sharaf, PhD, was appointed on February 6, 2014 to the board of directors of the International Association for the Advancement of High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC Association). Dr. Sharaf was also appointed chair of the HPTLC Association Advisory Board.
The HPTLC Association convenes representatives from academia, industry, research, regulatory and standard setting bodies to promote the use of HPTLC in plant analysis and other analytical fields. As a member of the board, Dr. Sharaf will help the HPTLC Association develop and validate common standards and methods for identification of plants and their adulterants and support pharmacopoeias and similar organizations with expertise, guidance, methods and validation data.

"As Chief Scientific Officer of AHPA, Dr. Sharaf brings experience and expertise relevant to the botanical industry of the United States to the HPTLC Association."
