AHPA has released updates via the online Botanical Safety Handbook 2nd ed. to four additional botanicals. AHPA has released a total of 31 updated entries to the online Botanical Safety Handbook in 2020. AHPA members can obtain an annual individual subscription to the online Botanical Safety Handbook for $95.00, with multi-user rates available for companies needing expanded access.

The following entries have been updated:

• Gotu kola (Centella asiatica) was updated after a review identified additional clinical trial, case report, pharmacology, and toxicity studies.
• Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) was revised after new clinical trials, pharmacological studies, and toxicity studies were identified.
• Passion flower (Passiflora incarnata) was updated to include additional clinical trial, case report, animal pharmacology, and reproductive toxicity studies.
• Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) was revised after review of new clinical trials and pharmacological studies.

Subscribers to the online Botanical Safety Handbook can review short descriptions of updated entries in the "Revisions" panel on the online version homepage when they log in. AHPA will continue to post additional updates to existing entries as well as new botanical entries the near future. Subscribers will be notified of these updates when they become available.

The online Botanical Safety Handbook is undergoing review of existing entries and the addition of new entries to provide the latest safety information before it can be included in future print editions of the handbook.
