Published: Tuesday, October 27, 2020

The American Herbal Products Association is calling attention to the need for food facilities (including dietary supplement facilities) that are required to register with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to renew their registration not later than December 31, 2020, if they have not already done so. The biennial food facility registration renewal period began October 1.

Please note that beginning this year, registering facilities must provide a unique facility identifier (often abbreviated as “UFI”).

Details of this requirement are available in the FDA Questions and Answers Regarding Food Facility Registration guidance.

Additional information on the biennial registration renewal period can be found at the Food Facility Registration User Guide: Biennial Registration Renewal webpage. Information for startups and small entities can be found at the Biennial Renewal of Food Facility Registration: Information for Startups and Small Entities webpage.
