Published: Thursday, May 26, 2022

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a letter addressed to possible U.S. importers, exporters and re-exporters of specimens, parts, and/or products containing Pygeum (Prunus africana) in response to ongoing seizures of products containing Prunus africana (re-)exported from the United States to Europe in violation of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) requirements.

In this letter, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service details requirements for shipments of Prunus africana specimens, parts, or products to be legally imported into the U.S. and legally exported or re-exported from the U.S.
