AHPA membership increases more than 12 percent with 45 new members in 2014

AHPA welcomes 17 new members this quarter

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), the global trade association and voice of the herbal products industry, has announced it has added 17 new members during the third quarter, for a total of 45 new member companies joining in 2014 -- a 12 percent increase in membership this year.

McGuffin's full-day presentation, "U.S. Regulatory Environment for Dietary Supplements," was part of the "Regulation of Foods and Dietary Supplements" course.

AHPA staff visit industrial hemp research field

Murray State hemp planting is first in the U.S. since passage of 2014 Farm Bill

Nestled between the test plots of soybeans, corn and tobacco there's a new research crop growing in Western Kentucky. One-half acre of industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa) was planted there in May and is now, as it towers up to 7-8 feet in height, starting to set seed from which economically valuable and versatile oil is derived.
