We are deeply saddened to announce that attorney, author, and health activist James S. (Jim) Turner passed away in his Washington, D.C. home this week.

Steven Foster – In Memoriam

We are shocked and saddened to report the sudden passing of Steven Foster last weekend.

Steven was known and loved as a botanical photographer extraordinaire, prolific author of botanical books, teacher, herbalist, and longtime contributor to the herbal industry. His engagements with AHPA date back to nearly the beginning of our association’s 40-year history.

Over four decades, AHPA has seen significant growth – now with more than 400 member companies across five continents, 17 committees representing key areas of industry interest, and valuable resources that include second editions of AHPA’s Botanical Safety Handbook and Herbs of Commerce.

AHPA adopts revised guidance policy on GMO

December 2021: Updated guidance recommended by AHPA Standards Committee approved by AHPA board

At the November 2021 AHPA Executive Committee meeting, the AHPA board adopted the following revised policy on ingredients that are or are produced from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The revisions were made to improve the policy’s citations and update it to reflect the existence of the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard.
